Our Story

Hey everyone! My name is Ryan Thompson, owner and one of the creators behind Sad Nuggie. Sad Nuggie is, in many ways, a representation of myself. Almost all of the ideas for Sad Nuggie come from my day to day life. I love video games, watch horror movies, snacking, sleeping, and am constantly battling with mental health.

Sad Nuggie is a way to express what I, along with millions of others, are dealing with. It's been amazing seeing Sad Nuggie resonate with hundreds of millions of people around the world!

Hey everyone, this is Rowan, one of the two founders here at Sad Nuggie. You may recognize me by my voice in our viral Shop Sad Nuggie videos or our TikTok Adoption Live feeds.

The Nuggies keep me on my toes, always surprising me last minute with their “world domination plans.” When they haven’t locked me out of my office, I’m writing and directing content for the shop channels, coordinating the creation and discovery of new Nuggies, and handling various other boring human business things that Business Nuggie doesn’t feel like doing.

When we started Sad Nuggie, I never imagined how many people we would be helping, not only by pairing humans with Nuggies that understand and support them through life, but also by giving them a daily laugh, a community to connect with, and a whole Nuggie family.

I’m so thankful for the Sad Nuggie community of fans and adopters who have supported the Nuggies so far, and I can’t wait to see what we do together in the future.

Sad Nuggie came to life with the talented artist Anastasia Sevastyanova, known as sevastasi. She has been a dedicated freelance digital illustrator since 2019, with a portfolio that spans numerous children's and young adult books, character design and sticker art, with the iconic Sad Nuggie standing out as a testament to her passion and dedication.

Hi everyone! I am Kateryna Tsypiashchuk, and my role on the Sad Nuggie team is as an artist. Considering that we only started working together in 2024, it is truly an honor for me to be on this page with everyone! My dream has always been to work as an illustrator, and Sad Nuggie is actually making my dream come true :) I love illustrating the Nuggies for our dear clients, and I never get tired of it. I hope to have years and years of working with Nuggies, and I wish to make more people happy with my art every day!

I am Taro. I am a bear. Just kidding. I am an Alaskan Malamute. There's important nugget business to be done here. If two people in the shop get too close, I will Awoo. If you pet our security manager Storm, I will Awooo. If there's any funny business at all, guess what? Awooo.

I like bones, my opossum from the dollar store, and going for car rides. I also like my Banana costume.

I am Storm. I am an Alaskan Malamute. I handle the deliveries, alerting the shop promptly when they arrive. I check all of our shipments very carefully. I sniff them all over before anyone in the shop can open them. When I am done, I get head pats.

I like belly rubs, my lamb chop, and zooming in circles at the park.
