Sad Nuggie is a viral, content‑driven retail brand with a global online business and a growing physical retail presence. Our central warehouse operates as a high‑volume fulfillment and logistics hub supporting worldwide e‑commerce orders, incoming inventory, retail store replenishment, events, and wholesale shipments.

As we rapidly expand our retail footprint and product offerings, we are hiring a Head of Central Operations to lead our warehouse and fulfillment centre and ensure operations scale smoothly alongside demand. This is a hands‑on leadership role within a fast‑paced, expanding operation with real responsibility and room to grow.


The Role

The Head of Central Operations leads and oversees all warehouse, inventory, fulfillment, and logistics functions. This role serves as the primary operational lead for Central Operations and is expected to operate independently within established budgets and policies.


Warehouse and Inventory Operations

  • Lead day‑to‑day warehouse operations

  • Oversee the receiving, storage, organization, and movement of inventory

  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking across online sales, retail locations, events, and wholesale

  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies

  • Support inventory forecasting and replenishment planning


Online Fulfillment

  • Manage the end‑to‑end online fulfillment process

  • Ensure speed, accuracy, and quality standards are consistently met

  • Establish and maintain packing and quality control procedures

  • Train and manage fulfillment staff


Logistics and Shipping Oversight

  • Provide senior oversight for shipping and logistics operations across online orders, retail replenishment, events, and wholesale

  • Coordinate closely with the Shipping and Logistics Manager, who handles day‑to‑day shipping execution and carrier communication

  • Act as the primary escalation point for shipping and logistics questions, decisions, and issues

  • Review shipping costs, rate structures, and overall logistics spend to ensure pricing and partnerships align with business needs

  • Evaluate logistics performance with a focus on cost visibility, reliability, and scalability

  • Identify gaps in planning, forecasting, or cost control and recommend improvements

  • Step in to adjust strategy, processes, or partnerships when required


Retail, Events, and Wholesale Support

  • Prepare and ship inventory to retail locations on a recurring basis

  • Coordinate inventory transfers between retail stores as needed

  • Prepare, track, and reconcile inventory for pop‑ups, events, and off‑site activations

  • Prepare and ship wholesale orders to external retail partners


Supplies, Replenishment, and Forecasting

  • Monitor, reorder, and maintain appropriate stock levels of operational supplies and packaging materials

  • Ensure packaging and shipping materials are always available to support daily operations

  • Forecast replenishment needs based on sales trends, retail demand, events, and wholesale activity

  • Prepare and submit replenishment requirements and recommendations for larger inventory orders

  • Communicate upcoming inventory and supply needs clearly to the founders to support purchasing and production decisions


Team Leadership

  • Directly manage warehouse, fulfillment, and logistics staff

  • Handle scheduling, coaching, performance management, and discipline

  • Build and maintain a reliable, accountable Central Operations team


Payroll and Timekeeping

  • Review and submit hours for Central Operations staff on payroll processing days

  • Ensure timekeeping accuracy and resolve discrepancies within the department

Experience and Skills

Required

  • Experience leading warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or operations teams

  • Strong people‑management and decision‑making skills

  • Experience working with inventory and fulfillment systems

  • Strong understanding of shipping, logistics, and cost control

  • Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment

Preferred

  • Experience in retail, e‑commerce, or multi‑location operations

  • Experience building or improving SOPs

  • Experience supporting business growth or expansion


Compensation

Starting salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 CAD, based on experience and demonstrated capability, with opportunity to grow as the business scales
